SUBMISSIONS – What we are looking for.

Barcelona Solo is a curated International Festival of Solo Performance taking place annually in Sitges, Barcelona with performances including live art, storytelling, theatre, musical theatre, dance and much more.

Above all we are looking for innovative work of the highest quality.

innovative: original, new, novel, fresh, unconventional, unorthodox, off-centre, unusual, unfamiliar, unprecedented, avant-garde, experimental, inventive, ingenious; advanced, modernistic, ultra-modern, state-of-the-art, futuristic, pioneering, groundbreaking, trailblazing, revolutionary, radical, disruptive, rare……

Given the location of the festival we are particularly, but by no means exclusively, interested in performances with an LGBT or a Catalan theme.

We will consider new or previously performed work from professional artists or companies.

While we expect that many of the spoken performances will be in the
English language, some will be in Catalan or Castellano but we will consider any performance that we believe can reach our audience. We will only consider work by one solo performer, which we would normally expect to be between one hour and ninety minutes in length.

Subtitles in the appropriate language are used.
